Help me help you

I want to give a gift to the Tinderbox community.

I want to give this gift because you’ve supported a product that empowers me, you’ve given of yourselves when I’ve had problems, and you’ve shown me how to get the best out of Tinderbox. So I want to say, “Thank you.” By giving a gift.

I thought it’d be easy to give this gift. But it turns out I need some advice.

What I want to give you

I’ve quite enjoyed using the Sandy color palette. But it’s only one color set. What I want to do is to commission a range of color palettes, some in neutral colors, some consisting of accents.

I’d like the neutral color sets to be interchangeable (so, if your document looks OK in one color palette, it’ll look good in any matching replacement); but the accented color sets need not be so.

Where I need your help

While I’ve never listed a job on elance before, I wrote up what I wanted, and posted it. And … received deafening silence.

Given the high level of competition I’ve seen on elance, I guess I might be doing something wrong. I wonder whether you might be able to help me figure out what that is. So far I’ve received zero proposals.

My elance job number is 18966743.

Can you help me help you?

Update: Thanks for the suggestions. I incorporated them into a new elance job post: 19048184.

What a nice gesture! Looking at your elance entry, I see the details box gives you limited space as your comments are elided mid-sentence. I don't know elance, do you get to see more if you bid for the job (can't tell as I have no account). Anyway, I assume you need to get your 'elevator' pitch into those 2 sentences visible in the 'details' box.

If the job's details box allows URLs, how about a bit.ly shortened link(s) to a page/picture showing a Tinderbox map using a palette? IOW, show the visual context in which the palette needs to be used. Might help to dial back the specific reference to TB up front as likely bidder won't know the app and it's not 1005 necessary to being able to make the palette. Basically, what you need is the colour values - I assume you'll be making them into the TB palette anyway.

Hopefully that gives some ideas to help re-state the task in a way that will catch the eyes of colour-savvy elancers. Good luck and thanks again for trying this!

P. S. Hope the new job's going well.

Thanks for the suggestions, Mark. I have incorporated your suggestions into a new elance job post. The new job number is 19048184.
